GETTING THE NEXT GENERATION ROLLING: VID PERŠAK'S KIDS MTB CAMP

A healthy future for mountain biking requires more than races, podiums and professional athletes. It requires places to ride, people willing to share their knowledge and, most importantly, another generation excited to get on bikes. That’s why we’re proud to see Vid Peršak continuing to invest in the mountain bike community at home in Slovenia. Vid recently welcomed more than 40 young riders from across Slovenia and beyond to Bike Park Poseka for his three-day Kids MTB Camp, combining basic and advanced MTB skills sessions with outdoor activities and the simple experience of spending a summer weekend riding bikes together.

It’s particularly fitting that the camp takes place close to Vid’s home. Growing up and training in Slovenia’s forested terrain helped shape him as a rider, and his camp now gives younger riders an opportunity to begin building their own relationship with those same trails. Poseka is also part of a broader Slovenian MTB culture that gives young riders somewhere to progress. The park offers everything from beginner-friendly terrain and pump track riding to natural enduro and highly technical downhill trails, and earlier this summer it hosted a round of the Slovenian Downhill Cup with youth categories beginning at U13.

For Reynolds, supporting athletes has always meant more than what happens on race day. The riders we partner with are ambassadors for the sport, and few things create a more lasting contribution than passing experience, enthusiasm and opportunity to those coming next. Some of the kids at Poseka may eventually race. Some may simply become lifelong riders. Perhaps one of them will someday stand where Vid stands today and pass their own experience on to another generation. Either way, more than 40 young riders spent the weekend on mountain bikes. And that’s a future we’re very happy to roll toward.
